<p>3D scan of an original fossilized skeleton of a saber-toothed cat (<em>Smilodon populator</em>) from the late Pleistocene. It was found in Río Areco in Argentina and is about 40,000 years old. A healed bone fracture in this saber-toothed cat’s left thigh suggests
that the animal belonged to a pack that provided it with food while it
was unable to run and hunt on its own. There are some ideas how the bone
was broken. It could have happened during a hunt for mammoths, where
