COMMUNICATIVE-PRAGMATIC CHARACTERISTICS OF SPEECH CONSTRUCTIONS EXPRESSING GENDER STEREOTYPES

Abstract: This article analyzes the communicative-pragmatic characteristics of speech constructions expressing gender stereotypes based on linguopragmatic and discursive approaches. It highlights the explicit and implicit verbalization of gender stereotypes in oral communication, as well as the role of evaluative units, modal constructions, forms of address, presupposition, implicature, metaphor, irony, imperative, advice, rebuke, and other speech acts in their expression. The study reveals that speech constructions expressing gender stereotypes serve not only to convey information, but also fulfill pragmatic functions such as evaluating the interlocutor's behavior, exercising communicative control, defining social roles, establishing dominance and subordination, and reinforcing gender-related social norms.
