We quantify the impacts of global solid biofuel stove emissions on air quality and human health, by employing the Community Earth System Model (CESM) CAM5-Chem (the Community Atmosphere Model coupled with Chemistry) model at the horizontal resolution of 0.9 degree latitude by 1.25 degrees longitude. We used the Global Exposure Mortality Model from Burnett et al. (2018) to quantify the PM2.5-induced premature deaths associated with noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and lower respiratory infections (LRIs). We followed Turner et al. (2016) to estimate the ozone-induced premature deaths associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

本研究采用水平分辨率为0.9°纬度×1.25°经度的社区地球系统模型(Community Earth System Model, CESM)耦合化学模块的社区大气模型(Community Atmosphere Model coupled with Chemistry, CAM5-Chem),量化全球固体生物质燃料炉灶排放对空气质量与人体健康的影响。我们采用Burnett等人2018年提出的全球暴露死亡率模型(Global Exposure Mortality Model),量化与非传染性疾病(noncommunicable diseases, NCDs)及下呼吸道感染(lower respiratory infections, LRIs)相关的细颗粒物(PM2.5)诱导过早死亡人数;并参照Turner等人2016年的研究方法,估算与慢性阻塞性肺疾病(chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD)相关的臭氧诱导过早死亡人数。
