METSIM Subcutaneous adipose surgical biopsy RNA-seq

This dataset is part of the third release (v3) of the METabolic Syndrome In Men (METSIM) study (phs000743.v3). This goal of this project is to evaluate the relationship between gene expression levels in subcutaneous adipose tissue and complex traits. We address this goal in two ways: 1) using linear regression to assess the association between gene expression and measured clinical traits for the same individuals while including cell type proportions as covariates, and 2) using the genotypes and gene expression to detect expression quantitative trait (eQTL) signals and integrating them with GWAS signals to identify candidate genes.
