Early signals of fragmentation of flat-tailed horned lizards in the Yuma Desert

We generated double digest restriction-site associated DNA sequencing data for 175 individual flat-tailed horned lizards (FTHL; Phrynosoma mcallii) sampled from the Yuma Desert Management Area, AZ, USA, between 2000 and 2020. The objectives of this study were to assess population structure and barriers to gene flow, changes in genetic diversity over time, and the relationship between geography and genetic variation. This study serves as an initial population genomic assessment to inform FTHL management and long-term monitoring efforts.
