A Cross-cultural study of Filial Piety and Well-being: The mediating role of Gratitude and Forgiveness

Filial piety refers to the obligations of obedience, respect and care that children should fulfill towards their parents and other elderly family members. Such filial piety obligations exist in many cultures, and seem to be particularly significant in Chinese society. This study examines the effect of filial piety on well-being, and whether the effects observed among Chinese participants can be generalized to Muslim societies.
