The family Cucurbitaceae includes a number of economically important crops such as cucumber, melon, watermelon and squash, which share a similar biological process during the early stage of fruit development. A few genes underlying the fruit development have been reported, however, lots of crucial genes remain largely unresolved, and their regulatory elements have not been explored.
