These data sets consist of sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies within the
following NINO regions:
NINO12: 0-10S, 80W-90W
NINO3: 5N-5S, 90W-150W
NINO4: 5N-5S, 150W-160E
NINO34: 5N-5S, 120W-170W
The NINO data sets consist of:
Extended Kaplan SST anomalies in the NINO12, NINO3, and NINO4 regions:

from 1856 to the present
Kaplan SST anomalies in the NINO12, NINO3, and NINO4 regions:

from 1856 to 1991
Reynolds and Smith SST anomalies in the NINO12, NINO3, NINO4, and
NINO34 regions:

from 1981 to present.
