This dataset provides spatially distributed land use type data for Lingling District, Hunan Province, in 2016. It is vector-based data with attribute fields including land code, land type and others. The land types are classified at the second-level category into paddy field, dry land, closed forest land, shrub land, sparse forest land, other forest land, high-coverage grassland, medium-coverage grassland, low-coverage grassland, rivers and canals, lakes, reservoirs and ponds, permanent glacier and snow areas, tidal flats, beach lands, urban land, rural residential areas, other construction land, sand land, gobi, saline-alkali land, swamp land, bare land, bare rock and gravel land, and others. Specifically, cultivated land is further categorized by landform into paddy fields and dry lands in mountainous, hilly, plain areas, as well as on slopes with a gradient greater than 25 degrees. The data has a scale of 1:100,000.
