Penitentiary establishments; in- and outflow of detainees

CBS collects in the context of the statistics on safety data on penitentiary establishments. This table contains data on the inflow and outflow of detainees during the year and status of the detainee population on 1 January and on 31 December, by type of establishment, residence permit and gender. In addition, this table contains figures on the average number of detainees per day and the total number of detainees during the year in the penitentiary facilities were present. The number of inmates is also related to the number of inhabitants in The Netherlands. This figure is used in international comparisons. Data available from 1994 to 2000. Status of the figures: final. Changes by: 8 January 2020. None, this table has been discontinued. This table has not been completed (temporarily) since 2000 due to data observation problems. In the context of the cuts resulting from the Rutte II cabinet, CBS had to make substantive choices in the statistics programme. As a result, funding for this statistics will no longer be available from 2018. When will there be new figures?
