This is a traffic feature dataset for EVPN protocol research, with dataset ID 2018YFB1800601-007, corresponding to assessment indicator 2.3: scientific data for high-performance routers supporting EVPN protocol.
This dataset includes two sub-datasets:
(1) Sub-dataset 1: Traffic data generated by each host in the data plane of split subnets. This is an experimental dataset generated during the research process, provided by Zhejiang University. Its primary purpose is to simulate traffic behavior in the data plane, evaluate the functions of network controllers and routers, and thus verify the EVPN support capability of high-performance routers. The generation time of the dataset is determined based on the specified timestamps and different traffic types within the dataset. This dataset is derived from a public dataset in ISCX that is used for simulating network behaviors and validating network functions. During the research, datasets of different types from various subnets were extracted according to the network topology corresponding to the original dataset. The dataset contains multiple packets stored in pcap format, and the payload content of the packets has been processed to ensure security and privacy protection. During the research, this dataset can be used to simulate network traffic behaviors of both attacks and normal traffic, and finally reproduce network transmission behaviors. It enables network controllers to collect and extract corresponding traffic feature information through interfaces, and verify whether packets are forwarded according to the rules issued by the controller. Additionally, the data rate can be adjusted during experiments to simulate network traffic behaviors under different transmission modes.
(2) Sub-dataset 2: Traffic feature dataset simulating different types of traffic. Provided by Zhejiang University, this dataset is used to research whether routers support the EVPN protocol, aiming to provide real-time network traffic feature information. The dataset is generated by simulating network transmission scenarios, where network control systems extract current network traffic features at fixed intervals and generate the dataset. It mainly includes statistical information of network transmission behaviors, source address distribution, and other contents. The dataset is stored in JSON format and written into log files. Network applications can access and extract the current network transmission modes through the EVPN interface. Network anomaly detection and classification models can use this dataset for training and validation, thereby improving network security and performance. This dataset describes various network traffic features in attack scenarios and benign environments, providing data inputs for evaluating different network controllers, network functions and their performance.
