Microbial diseases are one of the main diseases faced by shipwreck after salvage. Microorganisms could damage shipwreck directly by their growth and proliferation or indirectly by changing shipwreck environment. Besides, environmental factors would also affect the activities of microorganisms. Therefore, Microorganisms and environmental factors constitute a dynamic system that influences each other, and it is a major challenge for cultural relics conservationists to figure out the interaction between microorganisms and environmental factors, identify and even predict risks in time, and take effective measures. Thus, the characteristics of environment factors and environmental microorganisms before and after salvage and transfer of Yangtze River Estuary No. 2 shipwreck were studied through environmental monitoring and sequencing technologies.
