资源简介:
Dataset DescriptionThis dataset corresponds to the study “Behavioral Oscillations in Cross-Modal Integration.”The research consists of two independent experiments, with their respective data stored in the main folders “Experiment 1” and “Experiment 2.”Experiment 1Experiment 1 investigated rhythmic fluctuations in double-flash fusion perception by introducing a visual cue.The data for Experiment 1 are organized into two subfolders:“Experiment 1 Raw Data” – containing the original log files exported directly from the experimental program.“Experiment 1 Final Data” – containing preprocessed data and extracted key measures used for analysis.Within the raw data folder, there are two subfolders: “Psychophysical Data” and “Main Experiment Data.”In the psychophysical session, participants’ double-flash fusion thresholds were measured using a one-factor, eight-level psychophysical design with Inter-Stimulus Interval (ISI) levels of 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 ms.Each ISI condition was repeated 35 times, yielding a total of 280 trials. For each ISI level, the proportion of correctly identifying two flashes was calculated. A psychometric function was then fitted to determine the ISI corresponding to 50% accuracy, defined as the participant’s PSE (Point of Subjective Equality) or individual threshold. Each participant’s data are stored in a folder named after their subject ID (e.g., sub01). Each log file provides detailed trial-level information, including event timing, stimulus presentation, and participant responses. A total of 34 participants were recruited for Experiment 1.During the main experimental session, 3 participants were excluded due to an average double-flash perception rate below 10%, resulting in 31 valid participants included in the final analysis. The “Experiment 1 Final Data” folder contains:The threshold data (PSE_selected) obtained during the psychophysical session; The main experiment data from three ISI conditions: ISI = 30 ms (subdata30_selected), ISI = PSE (subdata_selected), and ISI = 100 ms (subdata100_selected). For each ISI condition, the dataset includes participants’ double-flash perception accuracy across different SOA (Stimulus Onset Asynchrony) levels, representing the temporal interval between the visual cue and the first flash. Each row corresponds to a single participant, and each column represents one SOA level.Experiment 2Experiment 2 further examined rhythmic fluctuations in double-flash fusion perception by manipulating the timing of an auditory cue relative to the visual flashes, focusing on oscillatory patterns within the integration window. The structure of the raw data in Experiment 2 is identical to that of Experiment 1.The psychophysical session followed the same procedure as in Experiment 1, whereas in the main experiment, the timing of the auditory cue was varied so that it was no longer synchronized with the first flash. Here, SOA refers specifically to the temporal offset between the sound cue and the first flash, ranging from –100 ms to +100 ms, divided into 21 SOA levels.A total of 35 participants were recruited. Four participants were excluded due to an average double-flash perception rate below 10%, resulting in 31 valid participants included in the final analysis. The final data files of Experiment 2 follow the same naming conventions and structure as those in Experiment 1, but were collected under these modified auditory-visual timing conditions for comparative analysis.
