The family of Weyl semimetals present an exciting opportunity to study novel electromagnetic responses, such as the topological and anomalous Hall Effects in response to applied fields. These novel electromagnetic responses have potential applications in a range of novel technologies and as such have received a great deal of interest over recent years. The topological states exhibited by these materials can be tuned by magnetic fields, and also more easily by chemical substitution. In this work, we propose to obtain a set of structural and magnetic data on the substituted Weyl semimetals CeAl(Ge0.7Si0.3), CeAl(Ge0.3Si0.7) and (Ce0.7Pr0.3)Al(Ge0.7Si0.3) in order to understand the magnetic ground states of these topologically interesting materials and understand the precise effect of chemical substitution on their topological magnetism.

外尔半金属(Weyl semimetals)家族为探究新型电磁响应提供了重要研究契机,例如在外场作用下展现的拓扑霍尔效应与反常霍尔效应。这类新颖电磁响应在诸多新兴技术中具备应用潜力,因此近年来受到了广泛关注。此类材料所呈现的拓扑态可通过磁场调控,而借助化学取代进行调控则更为简便。本研究拟获取取代型外尔半金属CeAl(Ge₀.₇Si₀.₃)、CeAl(Ge₀.₃Si₀.₇)以及(Ce₀.₇Pr₀.₃)Al(Ge₀.₇Si₀.₃)的一系列结构与磁学数据,以期阐明这类具有拓扑研究价值的材料的磁基态,并明晰化学取代对其拓扑磁学性质的具体调控作用。
