Nikon E800 x60 water immersionOlympus OM-D E-M10II <br> Original image stacks for descriptions of fossil mites of the family Paratydeidae from the late Eocene Rovno Amber. <br>Two species: <br>Scolotydaeus vlaskini n. sp.Housed in the amber collection of the Sсhmalhausen Institute of zoology NAS of Ukraine, Kiev, with collection number SIZK K‑1462 and Tanytydeus pogrebnyaki n. sp.<br>Housed in the amber collection of the Schmalhausen Institute of zoology NAS of Ukraine, Kiev, with collection number SIZK K‑18364. Compound microscopes Nikon E-800 with water immersion optics (40x and 60x) and Zeiss AxioImager A2 with dry (40x, 63x) and oil immersion optics (100x). Brightfield, polarized and differential interference contrast and incident illumination were used. Stacks of images, comprising multiple focal planes, were obtained with digital cameras Olympus OM-D E-M10II on Nikon microscope, Zeiss Axiocam 506 color and Hitachi KP-HD20A on Zeiss microscope. Stacks were corrected for colour, brightness and noise with Adobe Lightroom, then exported to JPEG format. <br>Combined images prepared with Helicon Focus 6.8.0, using algorithms A (mostly) and B with subsequent manual addition of significant details from the individual focal planes.

本数据集为始新世晚期罗夫诺琥珀(Rovno Amber)中副螨科(Paratydeidae)化石螨类的形态描述提供原始图像堆栈,涉及的成像设备包括尼康(Nikon)E800水浸式显微镜与奥林巴斯(Olympus)OM-D E-M10II数码相机。 本次研究包含两个新种: 斯科洛螨属新种(Scolotydaeus vlaskini n. sp.):标本馆藏于乌克兰基辅国家科学院施马尔豪森动物学研究所(Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology, NAS of Ukraine)琥珀标本库,馆藏编号为SIZK K‑1462; 坦尼螨属新种(Tanytydeus pogrebnyaki n. sp.):标本馆藏于乌克兰基辅国家科学院施马尔豪森动物学研究所琥珀标本库,馆藏编号为SIZK K‑18364。 成像所用复合显微镜包括:配备40×、60×水浸物镜的尼康E-800显微镜,以及配备40×、63×平场物镜与100×油浸物镜的蔡司(Zeiss)AxioImager A2显微镜。成像采用明场照明、偏振光照明、微分干涉相差照明及落射照明。 通过多焦面成像获取图像堆栈:尼康显微镜搭配奥林巴斯OM-D E-M10II数码相机完成图像采集,蔡司显微镜则分别搭配蔡司Axiocam 506彩色数码相机与日立(Hitachi)KP-HD20A数码相机完成图像采集。 随后使用Adobe Lightroom对图像堆栈进行色彩校正、亮度调节与噪声抑制,之后导出为JPEG格式文件。 最终的合成图像通过Helicon Focus 6.8.0软件拼接生成,主要采用算法A并辅以算法B,之后手动添加单焦面图像中的关键细节信息。
