Social Legitimacy of Pain (SOLEPA). Survey Study

[EN] The "Social Legitimacy of Pain" project aims to delve into the understanding of pain from a social perspective. Pain must be understood as a socially constructed concept, in which psychological, educational, cultural, and sociological elements intervene, and which therefore requires a study that analyzes its different dimensions, considering both the social context in which it occurs and its subjective perception. This dataset collects the results of a survey designed to understand the social legitimacy of pain: how this legitimation occurs, what elements influence a pain being considered legitimate, understanding the relationship between the legitimacy of a type of pain and the social groups that suffer it predominantly, etc. The questionnaire was designed by the research group belonging to the IBC line of IESA/CSIC and answered by a sample of panelists, adhering to quotas of sex, age, and educational level to proportionally represent the Spanish population aged 18 or older. The fieldwork was carried out in 2021.
