The European Marine Omics Biodiversity Observation Network (EMO BON) is an initiative from the European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC) to establish a coordinated, long-term genomic observatory. The network was launched in June 2021 when the first sampling campaigns took place. Collection of marine samples for the water column, soft and hard substrates take place according to EMO BON Standard Operational Procedures. The data generated within this initiative will follow the FAIR data principles.
