This dataset contains the supporting materials and anonymised quantitative data used in the quasi-experimental study reported in the paper "Artificial Intelligence in Everyday Classrooms: Effects of a Purpose-Built AI Study Assistant on Secondary Students’ Learning, Motivation, and Engagement", submitted at the Open Research Europe open access publishing platform. The study investigated the educational impact of the AI-powered Study Buddy (SB) application -developed in the framework of the AI4EDU Erasmus+ project- on secondary school students’ academic performance, motivation, and engagement. The dataset includes an anonymised Excel dataset containing: Students’ academic test scores (Physics and History) pre- and post-test of both control and experimental groups Motivation and engagement survey scores (pre and post; experimental & control groups) Statistical analyses The study design involved intact classroom groups assigned to experimental and control conditions. Experimental groups had access to Study Buddy during a three-week instructional period, while control groups used conventional learning resources. Teachers received preparatory training prior to implementation. All data have been anonymised in compliance with GDPR and relevant national ethical procedures. No personally identifiable information is included. This dataset enables replication of statistical analyses reported in the paper and supports further secondary analysis of: Academic performance effects Motivation and engagement changes The dataset contributes to the growing body of empirical research on AI-supported learning in authentic classroom environments.
