The purpose of the test was to develop a procedure to obtain frozen core samples from liquefied Ottawa F60 sand that had a geomembrane placed as a confining layer. The Ottawa F60 sand model with the geomembrane layer was spun up to 30 g's and shaken three times, two sinusoidal motions and a third strong shake. Due to equipment problems, the exact motions applied are not known. However the accelerations in the model were acquired and can be analyzed, but for the purpose of this project it was not needed. Visual confirmation of liquefaction was present in the form of a sand boil. Frozen core samples were taken from the test.
本试验旨在开发一套工艺,用于从铺设了土工膜(geomembrane)作为约束层的液化态渥太华F60砂(Ottawa F60 sand)中获取冻结砂芯试样。该带有土工膜约束层的渥太华F60砂模型被离心加速至30倍重力加速度,并先后进行三次振动:两次正弦运动激振与一次强振。因设备故障,本次试验实际施加的振动运动参数无法被准确确认。不过模型内部的加速度数据已完成采集,可用于后续分析,但本项目无需使用该部分数据。试验通过砂沸现象直观证实了液化现象的发生。本次试验采集了冻结砂芯试样。
