资源简介:
The movement of sediment entering Granite Harbour from the Ross Sea was investigated with the nature (speed/direction/peristence) of mud carrying bottom currents in Granite Harbour determined. The current meter mooring site was identified after a 13 spot bathymetry measurement some 7km northeast from Discovery Bluff. The mooring site was in the centre of a deep channel trending north east at 775 m depth. The site was chosen to test if the channel is a conduit for sediment entering the inner harbour from the Ross Sea. Seven sediment traps from 7m to 730m depth were suspended above the current meter on the mooring.
