File forenames

The file of first names is drawn up only from the birth certificates of persons born in France including the overseas departments (DOM). As a result, completeness is not guaranteed throughout the period, particularly for the years prior to 1946. Users will therefore be able to notice discrepancies with the annual number of births assessed by INSEE. These discrepancies, large at the beginning of the period, are shrinking. After 1946, they were insignificant.

Accents are absent from this file — “Céline” is marked “Celine”... An accented version would be much more useful.
