Patricia Bay Transmissometer Deployed 2008-09-28

The SeaTech Transmissometer 0475 was deployed on 2008-09-28 at Patricia Bay. Patricia Bay is located in the Saanich Inlet, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. This device is a Transmissometer. Transmissometers measure the transmission of light through seawater. Parallel rays of light in a spectral band are emitted from a source towards a light detector a set distance away. The fraction of light received is converted into a beam attenuation coefficient. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.

SeaTech Transmissometer 0475型透光率仪（Transmissometer）于2008年9月28日部署在帕特里夏湾（Patricia Bay）。帕特里夏湾坐落于温哥华岛南端的萨尼奇湾（Saanich Inlet）内。该设备用于测量光线在海水中的透射特性：其从光源发射某一光谱波段的平行光线，射向固定距离外的光探测器，探测器接收到的光强占比将被转换为光束衰减系数。本次部署将设备安装于固定平台之上，采集所得数据已通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施完成归档并公开共享，且遵循行业既定规范开展了质量保证与衍生数据产品的制备工作。
