Employment rate (aged 16-64) - Birmingham Constituency

This is the proportion of the working age population (aged 16 to 64) who are in employment according to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) definition. In employment are people who did some paid work in the reference week (whether as an employee or self-employed); those who had a job that they were temporarily away from (e.g. on holiday); those on government-supported training and employment programmes; and those doing unpaid family work. While the source is a rolling annual survey updated quarterly, a given 12-month period should be compared to the matching 12-month period in previous years to obtain valid comparisons.
