This study was conducted to describe and document the composition of the aquatic microbial community in Tellico Reservoir, Tennessee, USA. Water samples for non-targeted metagenomic sequencing were collected at a depth of 0.5 m on July 21, 2022 and August 31, 2022 near Little Tennessee River mile 12.0 and on July 21, 2022 near river mile 11.5.
