In this study we propose to investigate the crystallization behaviour of 4-methyl-1-pentene/1,5-hexadiene isotactic copolymers (iP4MPHD) incorporating methylene-1,3-cyclopentane (MCP) cyclic co-units by means of simultaneous time and temperature resolved small- and wide-angle X-ray scattering to shed light on the structure-properties relations of these novel materials. These copolymers exhibit high melting temperatures (above 140 °C) and a controlled glass transition temperature close to the room temperature (28−30 °C) with unexpected flexibility also below the glass transition temperature. The presence of MCP co-units and allow tailoring of deformability while retaining high mechanical resistance and transparency of the isotactic poly(4-methyl-1-pentene) iP4MP homopolymer
