NRS-9928 | Plans relating to the construction of works of sewerage in the City of Sydney

These are plans which accompanied a contract to lay sewerage pipes, to build cesspits and to connect them and also water closets and water pipes from roofs. The details of the contract and the agreement signed by the contractor Markell appear on SR Plan No. 2905. There also appears the signature of Edward Bell, City Engineer, 9 July 1857. More details of construction appear on SR Plan No. 2920. The plans are for the City of Sydney area and show details and outlines of the blocks, buildings, outhouses, cesspits, etc. Some street numbers and names of buildings appear. A number of the plans have details of sewerage pipes leading from some buildings, and some of the streets are marked with sewers.
