European forest vascular plant species list

Motivated by the "Waldartenlisten der Farn- und Blütenpflanzen, Moose und Flechten Deutschlands" (https://www.bfn.de/fileadmin/MDB/documents/service/skript299.pdf) an expert gremium around the FLEUR network developed a list of forest vascular plant species for several European regions. FLEUR is a European network of researchers interested in the dynamics of forest plant species in a changing environment (http://www.fleur.ugent.be/).For 24 geographical regions of 13 countries in Western, Central and Northern Europe comprehensive lists of vascular plant species occurring in forests are presented. Lists and assignments to four different species groups with different degrees of association with forests (forest specialists versus forest generalists) are based on vegetation databases, information in floras and other publications, and expert knowledge. The methodology will be presented in an upcoming publication, and an extension to other regions is intended. The forest plant species list serves as a tool for evaluating plant species richness of forests and can be used for various ecological analysis, e.g. temporal changes in forest communities.

本数据集的编制灵感源自《德国蕨类、开花植物、苔藓和地衣森林物种名录》（Waldartenlisten der Farn- und Blütenpflanzen, Moose und Flechten Deutschlands，https://www.bfn.de/fileadmin/MDB/documents/service/skript299.pdf），由围绕FLEUR网络组建的专家组针对多个欧洲区域编制了森林维管植物（vascular plant）物种名录。FLEUR是一个由关注变化环境下森林植物物种动态的研究者组成的欧洲学术网络（http://www.fleur.ugent.be/）。本数据集覆盖西欧、中欧和北欧13个国家的24个地理区域，完整列出了各区域森林内分布的维管植物物种。该名录及其将物种划分为四个与森林关联程度各异的类群（森林专性物种与森林广适物种）的分类方案，均基于植被数据库、植物志文献、其他公开出版物及专家知识编制完成。相关研究方法将在后续发表的学术论文中详细阐述，同时本数据集计划拓展至更多地理区域。本森林植物物种名录可作为评估森林植物物种丰富度的工具，亦可应用于各类生态学分析，例如森林群落的时间动态变化研究。
