Dissolved methane concentrations during the US contribution to the Synoptic Arctic Survey on a transect Chukchi Sea - Geographic North Pole, Arctic Ocean (2022).

The Arctic Ocean has been warming much faster than the rest of the globe over the past four decades, and the consequence of this warming are not well known in these high latitudes. The Synoptic Arctic Survey, spanning 2020-2022, is an international effort aimed at monitoring the health of the Arctic Ocean, and will serve as a basis for future scientific studies. As part of the United States (US) contribution, we explored the dynamics of methane in Arctic waters along two shelf-to-deep basin transects, from the Chukchi Sea to the geographic North Pole. This dataset provides analyses of dissolved methane concentrations in Arctic Ocean waters during the US contribution of the Synoptic Arctic Survey in September-October 2022.
