unclassified Wifcevirus strain:EC-S-21 Raw sequence reads

Antibiotic resistance is one of the biggest threats the world is facing today. A growing number of infections are becoming untreatable using the commonly used antibiotics. In this scenario, the identification of bacteriophages could be a safe and effective strategy to curb the MDR bacterial infections. The phage EC-S-21 is found to be active against 19 of the 24 strains of MDR E.coli tested, and could be used as one of the weapons to curb the antibiotic resistant bacteria.
