In 2021, the European blockchain market revenue is forecast to be around two billion U.S. dollars. During this time, approximately a third of the European blockchain spending is expected to come from the banking industry, which will be led by use cases such as cross-border payments and settlements, transaction agreements, and lastly, trade finance and post-trade/transaction settlements. Blockchain spending in the banking sector has been tremendously boosted by the mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.
