资源简介:
This is the data for the survey paper Whom Do Explanations Serve? A Systematic Literature Survey of User Characteristics in Explainable Recommender Systems Evaluation. It contains a list of 1012 articles published between 2017 and 2022 that either propose an interpretable or explainable recommender system or evaluate explanations in a recommendation scenario. These articles are categorized by the evaluation methodology of the explanations (tab: All Papers). The tab Surveyed Papers list the subset of the articles that evaluated their explanations with a user study and tested the results for statistical significance. From this subset of articles, we extracted the findings of evaluations in which the impact of user characteristics on the effect of an explanation was measured along with the application domain, the explanation modality, the explanation generation approach, and the type of recommender system (tab: Effects on User). We additionally extracted and categorized all reported information on the participants of the user studies (tab: Evaluated Participants). The tab List of Evaluated Traits is an overview of the categorization of the user characteristics that were evaluated.
