Mechanism of the coral bleaching under the mediation of AI-2 type quorum sensing signal

In the indoor control experiments, we constructed mutant strains lacking AI-2 synthesis ability withstrain Z5 as the representative. Four experimental groups were designed to exposeAcropora coral: AI-2 wild strain, AI-2 mutant strain, AI-2 signaling substance (positivecontrol), and blank control. The experimental period was 21 days, during which hostphysiological indicators (photosynthetic parameters, bleached coverage, etc.) andsymbiont microbial composition and structure were monitored to explore the effects ofthe AI-2 QS system on changes in host morphology, microbial community and function.
