CORC (Consortium on the Ocean\'s Role in Climate) has been making observations of the California Current systems with moorings since 2008. In support of these mooring deployments, gliders have been used that serve as data shuttles to communicate with the underwater mooring gear, as well as collect additional data near or between the moorings. These glider operations are done by PI U. Send, and are in addition to repeat glider sections by PI D. Rudnick in the same general area. CORC(海洋气候作用联盟,Consortium on the Ocean's Role in Climate)自2008年起便依托锚系观测设备对加利福尼亚流系开展持续观测。为支撑此类锚系部署任务,研究团队使用海洋滑翔机作为数据中继平台,既可与水下锚系装置完成通信交互,也可在锚系附近或锚系之间采集额外观测数据。本次滑翔机观测任务由首席研究员U. Send负责实施,同时补充了首席研究员D. Rudnick在同一区域开展的重复滑翔机断面观测。
本次发布的滑翔机观测数据涵盖温度、盐度,以及基于滑翔机潜次间侧向位移计算得到的柱平均海流数据。
