The dataset is composed of unbalanced panel data from 290 cities in China from 2011 to 2019, covering data such as basic economic conditions, carbon emissions, digital economy development index, and night - time light brightness. The economic indicators at the city level are sourced from "China Urban Statistical Yearbook". The carbon emission data is sourced from the Carbon Emission Accounts and Datasets (CEADs). Green technology innovation is represented by the number of green invention patent applications at the city level, which are sourced from the Chinese Research Data Services Platform (CNRDS). As for the development level of the digital economy, We follow Zhao et al.(2020) to construct digital economy development index. We take the logarithmic values of the original data used as the carbon emission indicators. The package also concludes empirical codes with which one could replicate all the empirical table.
