In solid tumors, drug concentrations decrease with distance from blood vessels; however, the cellular adaptations accompanying gradated exposure of cancer cells to drugs are largely unknown. We thus profiled the changes in gene expression through a gradient of concentrations for two anthracyclines commonly used to treat breast cancer, doxorubicin and epirubicin. MCF7 cells were exposed to incremental doses of doxorubicin or epirubicin (1,5,10,15,25,50, and 100 nM). Control cells for each drug were kept in culture with DMSO. Three biological replicates are available for each dose, for each drug.
