Global population genomic study of an amphipod across the hadal zone. Scopelocheirus schellenbergi breed:Amphipoda

The goal is to study the phylogeographic patterns among populations of the cosmopolitan hadal amphipod, Bathycallisoma schellenbergi (Crustacea, Amphipod) to assess the degree of geographic isolation, patterns of contemporary connectivity, and fundamental taxonomy. To do this, we applied reduced-representation sequencing techniques (bestRAD) to genotype genome-wide single-nucleotide markers. The amphipods come from 10 subduction trenches and one fracture zone in the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, and Southern oceans and recovered from depths ranging from 5920 m to 8428 m.
