This dataset presents a collection of Metagenome-Assembled Genomes (MAGs) derived from shotgun metagenomic sequencing of water and sediment samples collected from two artificial lakes in the Gauteng Province of South Africa.Background:The study aimed to explore the microbial communities and their functional potentials within these man-made freshwater environments.
