Sweden Balance of Trade

Sweden’s trade surplus narrowed to SEK 4.5 billion in July 2025, down from SEK 6.8 billion in the same month of the previous year. Exports fell by 2.0% year-on-year to SEK 153.8 billion, weighed down by a 6.1% decline in sales to EU countries, although exports to non-EU countries rose by 2.4%. Meanwhile, imports edged down by 0.6% to SEK 149.3 billion. Purchases from non-EU countries shrank by 7.1%, while imports from EU countries increased by 3.0%. For the first seven months of 2025, however, the trade surplus widened to SEK 65.7 billion, compared to SEK 62.1 billion in the same period of the previous year.
