Genome sequencing of Neoechinorhynchus agilis

Endoparasitic helminths from the Acanthocephala group are increasingly appearing as a pest in fish aquaculture. This applies in particular to the limnic species Neoechinorhynchus buttnerae in South American pond farming. With the genome sequencing of the phylogenetically close Neoechinorhynchus agilis, the basis for a better understanding of evolution and for the containment of these parasites is expanded.
