CE0706 INFOMAR Seabed Survey

The INtegrated Mapping FOr the Sustainable Development of Ireland’s MArine Resource (INFOMAR) programme is a joint venture between the Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI) and the Marine Institute (MI). The programme is a successor to the Irish National Seabed Survey (INSS) and concentrates on creating a range of integrated mapping products of the physical, chemical and biological features of the seabed in the near-shore area. This cruise took place on board the R.V. Celtic Explorer in April/May 2007 in the North East Atlantic Ocean in an area offshore the Dingle peninsula, Co. Kerry. Surveys conducted include: Multibeam Echo Sounder (MBES) hydrographic survey to International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) Order 1a standard. Bathymetry survey: to produce bathymetry shaded relief and backscatter mosaic products which provide depth, seabed features and seabed hardness information. Sub Bottom Profiler (SBP) survey: to acquire data of the shallow (up to 30 metres) sub seabed to determine the existence of buried objects and ascertain the sub-seabed character. 182 survey lines, cross lines and infill lines were completed. A total of 10 Sound Velocity profiles (SVPs), 11 Moving Vessel Profile (MVP) casts and 25 Conductivity Temperature Depth (CTD) casts (including a completed transect) were taken. A total of 49 stations were sampled. At each station 4 grabs were taken; 3 for biological analysis and 1 for geochemical analysis. An area of 2899 km2 was covered during this survey. No Marine Mammal Observer was on board so no cetacean recordings were logged. Celtic Explorer）执行，作业区域位于大西洋东北部、凯里郡丁格尔半岛近海海域。 本次科考开展的调查内容包括： 1. 多波束测深声呐（Multibeam Echo Sounder, MBES）水文测绘，符合国际海道测量组织（International Hydrographic Organisation, IHO）1a级标准； 2. 水深测绘：生成水深晕渲图与反向散射镶嵌产品，以提供水深、海底地貌与海底硬度相关信息； 3. 浅地层剖面仪（Sub Bottom Profiler, SBP）探测：获取浅部（最大深度30米）海底亚表层数据，用以判定埋藏物存在情况并明确海底亚表层特征。 本次科考共完成182条测线、横测线与补测线。共获取10份声速剖面（Sound Velocity profiles, SVPs）、11次走航剖面（Moving Vessel Profile, MVP）测量与25次温盐深（Conductivity Temperature Depth, CTD）测量（包含一条完整断面）。共完成49个站位的采样工作，每个站位采集4个抓斗式取样器样品：3份用于生物分析，1份用于地球化学分析。本次调查覆盖海域面积达2899平方千米。 本次航次未配备海洋哺乳动物观察员，因此未记录鲸类相关观测数据。本次采集的数据包括： - 水体声学反向散射数据 - 水深与高程数据 - 日期与时间信息 - 水柱温度数据
