Raw acoustic data collected by ship-borne EK60 echo sounder in Southern Ocean (Feb - Apr 2008)

Acoustic backscatter data were collected on board the RRS James
Clark Ross (cruise JR179) as part of the BIOFLAME-BIOPEARL programme.
Data were collected using a Simrad EK60 echo sounder. Data were
collected throughout the cruise which ran through the Drake Passage,
Bellingshausen Sea and Amundsen Sea in the Southern Ocean, from
February to April 2008. The raw data files (Simrad .raw format)
are held by the Polar Data Centre (PDC) at the British Antarctic
Survey (BAS).

本数据集的声学背散射数据采集自英国皇家研究舰“詹姆斯·克拉克·罗斯”号（RRS James Clark Ross）第JR179航次，系BIOFLAME-BIOPEARL研究计划的组成部分。
数据采集采用Simrad EK60型回声测深仪。
本次航次全程开展数据采集工作，途经南大洋的德雷克海峡、别林斯高晋海与阿蒙森海，作业时段为2008年2月至4月。
原始数据文件采用Simrad .raw格式，由英国南极调查局（British Antarctic Survey, BAS）下属的极地数据中心（Polar Data Centre, PDC）归档留存。
