A multiregional input-output dataset with energy extension for a nested region: Catalonia, the Rest of the EU, and the Rest of the World

This dataset provides a longitudinal Multi-Regional Input-Output Table (MRIOT) for Catalonia, the Rest of the European Union (REU), and the Rest of the World (RW), covering 1995–2014 at a 14-sector level, together with an associated energy use extension disaggregated into five carriers (Solids, Liquids, Gases, Electricity, and Heat). It was built by combining the World Input-Output Database (WIOD, 2013 and 2016 releases), the EUREGIO database, Idescat, Eurostat, and Spanish Regional Economic Accounts, using the Flegg Location Quotient (1995–1999, 2011–2014) and Principal Components Analysis to estimate years and variables not directly covered by primary sources. Developed within the PYMEDEAS Project, the dataset supports economic and energy analysis at regional and sectoral levels and facilitates replication of the methodology for other regions. Data are provided as a single .xlsx file with one summary sheet and one sheet per year (1995–2014).
