Radiation Energy Solar Cataster NRW (radiation energy)

The State Office for Nature, Environment and Consumer Protection NRW (LANUV NRW) published the solar cadastre NRW in November 2018. In this context, roofs and open spaces in NRW were examined in high detail with regard to their suitability for photovoltaics and solar thermal energy. This data set contains the map of the annual solar radiation for NRW, which was compiled on the basis of nationwide, high-resolution laser scan data from the state of NRW and radiation data from the German Weather Service. The radiation energy is expressed in kWh per square meter per year, shading by trees, adjacent buildings/roof structures and terrain increases have been taken into account.
