This dataset provides high-resolution and continuous records of clay mineral assemblages for sediments from West Pacific DSDP Sites 296 and 292, spanning since the Late Oligocene. Detrital sediments were processed to extract the clay fraction (<2 μm), then subjected to ethylene glycol treatment prior to X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis.
