Office of Satellite and Products Operations Land Product (OSPO-LP)

The Office of Satellite and Products Operations, Land Products (OSPO-LP), is a collection of 20 separate data products that are subset into four categories: Fire & Smoke, Snow & Ice, Surface & Hydrology and Vegetation. The individual data products and measurements are derived from NOAA's advanced global satellite systems and provide important information about the earth's land surface that is useful for environmental monitoring, land management, agriculture, and urban planning. High-resolution visual representations of land features, vegetation cover, and land use patterns enable monitoring land surface changes, such as deforestation, urban expansion, and agricultural activities. This information is critical for supporting climate modeling and environmental impact assessments, land management decisions, and assessing natural resource sustainability.
