We use the rare 12CH2D2 and 13CH3D isotopologue of CH4 as a tracer of abioic origin for methane. We have synthesized abiotic methane in the laboratory. Subsequently, we have determined the methane isotope compositions. Our isotope measurements include singly and doubly substituted isotopologues.
