East Volcano Islands, a part of the Andaman Islands archipelago, are situated in the Andaman Sea. Administratively, they fall under the North and Middle Andaman District of the Indian Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The archipelago comprises two islands: Barren Island and Narcondam Island, which are 132.5 km apart from each other. The northern Narcondam Island lies 130 km east of North Andaman Island, with geographic coordinates ranging from 13°25′46″N to 13°27′53″N and 94°14′56″E to 94°16′38″E. Barren Island is located 98 km east of Middle Andaman Island, with its geographic coordinates ranging from 12°15′54″N to 12°17′44″N and 93°50′44″E to 93°52′40″E. The total area of the two islands is 15.85 km², with a combined coastline length of 27.50 km. Specifically, Narcondam Island covers an area of 7.60 km² and has a coastline of 13.45 km, while Barren Island has an area of 8.25 km² and a coastline of 14.05 km. Barren Island is an active volcano, with its most recent eruption taking place in 2017, whereas Narcondam Island is a dormant volcano. This dataset was developed using Google Earth satellite imagery and maps pertaining to India and the Andaman Islands. It consists of 15 individual data files, stored in .kmz and .shp formats, with an uncompressed size of 326 KB (compressed into 2 files with a total size of 139 KB).
