VPRS 19336 Ladies' Aid Association Annual Reports and Balance Sheets

This series consists of the annual reports and balance sheets of the Ladies' Aid Association of Prince Henry's Hospital. On 21 November 1890 the Melbourne Homoeopathic Ladies’ Aid Association was formed, with the aim “to aid the hospital and to help the nursing staff in numerous ways”. It was modelled on an American Association and may have been Victoria’s first formal hospital auxiliary. Annual Reports provide a report to Government, Contributors and to the Hospital on the activities of the Ladies' Aid Association for each particular year. The Annual Report and Balance Sheet 1928-29 was the thirty-eighth annual report book issued by the Homoeopathic Hospital Ladies' Aid Association. It is the first of the Annual Reports known to be extant. Information to be found in these records includes the names of office bearers, the names of committee members, rules of the Homoeopathic Ladies' Aid Association, lists of Associates, names of donors, lists of gifts received, and a summary of the various activities and fundraising undertaken during the year.
