资源简介:
Despite significant research, the etiology of systemic sclerosis (SSc), a complex autoimmune disease, remains unclear and lacks effective treatments. Recent research has suggested the involvement of the microbiome in SSc pathogenesis. Hence, this study aimed to identify specific microbial species associated with SSc and explore their therapeutic potential. In particular, Bifidobacterium was recognized as a probiotic capable of fostering the growth of butyrate-producing bacteria, potentially suppressing SSc via butyrate formation. This study investigated the therapeutic potential and gut microbial impact of Bifidobacterium longum (B. longum) RAPO using the SSc mouse model. This research would provide valuable insights regarding the involvement of the gut microbiota in SSc and facilitate the development of effective microbiome-targeted therapies.
