This project contains supplemental data for the publication: Arne Schiller, Saullo G. P. Castro, Chiara Bisagni (2026). "A semi-analytical solution for stresses and displacements in thermoplastic welded composite joints". Submitted to Composites Part C: Open Access. If you are interested in running the calculation for the semi-analytical solution discussed in the paper, download "SLS_Joint_Solution.mw".You can open and run the file with the software "Maple" (https://www.maplesoft.com/products/Maple/).The file is verified to run without errors in Maple 2024.In addition, a PDF version of the Maple file is availabe ("SLS_Joint_Solution.pdf"). The remaining dataset is split into five folders: 1. "Coefficient_Calculation" contains Maple files (.mw) that were used to determine the solution coefficients in Appendix A of the paper.2. "Coordinate_Transformation" contains a PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) that describes the difference between the coordinate system used in the model and those typically employed in Classical Laminated Plate Theory (CLPT) and Abaqus3. "Finite_Element_Model" contains the Abaqus models that were used to verify the semi-analytical solution. The folder features images of the models (.png files), a .cae file containing the models, as well as the corresponding input (.inp) and output (.odb) files.4. "Plotting_Code" contains the Python (.py) files that were used to create the plots in the paper. It also contains the data for the plots in .xslx files.5. "Stiffness_Calculation" contains the derivation and calculation of the stiffness parameters required in "SLS_Joint_Solution.mw". Every folder contains an additional README file that describes the contents in the corresponding folder in more detail.
